This is an eventual feature of Bus Archive Chile , because our main interest are coaches. Nevertheless sometimes urban buses can add a bit of variety to this page. But in any case they represent the freedom of the road (nor any type of freedom), that we relate to coaches.
Esta es una presentación esporádica de Bus Archive Chile , puesto que nuestro principal interés son los buses de larga distancia. Sin embargo a veces presentamos buses urbanos para agregar algo de variación a este magazine. Pero en ningún caso los buses urbanos representan la libertad de la carretera , como es el concepto que asociamos a los pullmanes .

Valparaiso es una
ciudad donde por largo tiempo ha sobrevivido el transporte
tradicional. Solo los ultimos 4 años ha cambiado el sistema de microbuses
por mini buses , sin personalidad y que no merecen ser clasificados
como buses. La foto muestra una de las ultimas unidades de microbuses en servicio activo durante 2005. Su chasis es Mercedes, probablemente 1114, de origen argentino, llegadas alrededor de 1978. Su carrocería ya no es la tradicional y ha sido largamente modificada para modernizarla, especialmente con grandes ventanales. Desconocemos su origen, pero realmente se ve bastante bien. Valparaiso is a traditional city, where buses have a long life, because their operators have good maintenance schedules. But in the last four years , traditional microbuses have been massively replaced by mini buses, artifacts that do not deserve to be classified as buses. The photo shows one of the last traditional microbuses in service in 2005. It has been largely modified to modernize it, especially with longer windows. The chassis ia a 1978 Argentinian built Mercedes 1114. The original body has been so hugely modernized that it is not possible to identify. In any case it looks well. |
Metalpar

Metalpar is a Chilean body builder, that also has a factory in Argentina. For that market this model, named Tronador was developed, with the typical characteristics for that market, being , after the advertisement, a low floor bus . Being built with a Mercedes Benz engine , thay have not been very successful, in Chile, where some units were imported. The photo, took in 2004, when the model was just arrived , shows a Tronador in the mandatory livery for Santiago. 200 is the line number and Pudahuel. La Dehesa, the route. |
| Metalpar es uno de los pocos carroceros que aún subsisten en Chile. pero el modelo de la foto, llamado Tronador, fue desarrollado y fabricado en la planta que posee en Argentina . Por eso el modelo tiene varias de las características típicas para ese mercado. Se anuncia como un bus de piso bajo aunque en realidad es un bus de piso plano. Con motor Mercedes Benz, las unidades importadas a Chile no han tenido buen resultado. La foto fue tomada el año 2004, cuando el modelo era aún nuevo. Se le aprecia en la librea obligatoria para el servicio urbano de Santiago. El número 200 corresponde a la línea y La Dehesa - Pudahuel, la ruta. |
